When the design team at Verisk brought their quarterly newsletter Visualize to the iPad, they found the Apple-approval process overwhelming and brought me in to move their DPS-created app into a multi-folio version, as well as design the issue. I worked with them on several issues handling the digital design as well as creating interactive features, publishing the approved folios, and updating the app with Apple.
This cover played a video showing the transition of car to taxi before resolving into an interactive slider.
This cover featured a simple animation from transitioning a series of images and the cover line text on top.
Page layouts were enhanced with extra interactive elements, as the sidebar here on crash test data included a short video clip playing under the bulleted list.
Layouts maintained the same look as the print magazine but were entirely redesigned for the page and text size of a tablet template.
Sidebars were expanded to full interactive elements.
A static chart became a scrolling element.
Historical data on hurricanes became a full interactive feature.
The accompanying notes opened up above the interactive.
